If you’ve sworn off protein powders for being gritty or gross, give this one a shot. I’ve been through more tubs of vanilla protein powder than I can count. Most of them are chalky, clumpy, or too sweet. Orgain’s Organic Vegan Protein is the rare exception. It’s also our favorite vegan protein powder for its simple formula: a blend of pea, brown rice, chia, and mung bean proteins, which together cover all nine essential amino acids (not always given with plant-based powders). Each scoop gives you 21 grams of protein, plus 4 grams of fiber. At 15 grams of carbs per serving, it’s higher in carbs than some other competitors, but those extra carbs make it more satisfying. Personally, I like it blended with almond milk, frozen berries, and a couple of spoons of hemp seeds.
