‘Now You See Me, Now You Don’t’ Doubles Down on the Heist Hype in New Trailer

Just with that killer title alone—making up for whatever uncreative mind decided to go with Now You See Me 2 for the second movie in the magician caper series—Now You See Me, Now You Don’t comes ready-made with a certain goofy energy.

The latest trailer for Ruben Fleischer’s threequel gives us a better look at both Jesse Eisenberg‘s returning Four Horsemen crew and the trio of upstarts who join them in trying to rip off a giant diamond from a sleek villain played by Rosamund Pike.

Anyone who’s been longing for a new movie in the Ocean’s 11 series, there’s no Brad Pitt to be found here, but the flavor is awfully familiar otherwise:

You can tell the entire cast knows exactly what kind of movie they’re making, and that’s half the fun; the other half is seeing how all the characters’ talents—ridiculous illusions, effortless safe cracking, whipping off a disguise to reveal another disguise underneath—will factor into what’s clearly a very silly plot. (Those generation-gap cracks are pretty tired, but we’ll allow it.)

And jeez, that cast: along with Eisenberg and Pike, there’s Dave Franco, Isla Fisher, Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt, and Morgan Freeman.

Here’s the official synopsis: “The Four Horsemen (Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher) are back—to unite with a new generation of illusionists (Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt) for their most global, high-stakes magical adventure yet. Their mission: Expose the corruption of Veronika Vanderberg (Rosamund Pike), a powerful diamond heiress with ties to arms dealers, traffickers, and warlords. Aided by the legendary Thaddeus (Morgan Freeman), the two generations of magicians must overcome their differences to try and defeat their cunning and dangerous adversary, in this magic-fueled heist filled with the franchise’s signature twists, turns, and thrilling reveals—along with some of the most thrilling illusions ever captured on film.”

Now You See Me, Now You Don’t, directed by Ruben Fleischer (Venom, Zombieland), hits theaters November 14.
