The Texas Chainsaw Massacre could head to TV with an assist from Glen Powell. Filming has wrapped on Practical Magic 2. Plus, could even more be on the way from Matt Reeves’ Batman universe? To me, my spoilers!
Clayface
In response to a fan on Threads (via Comic Book), James Gunn stated the decision to decorate the set of Clayfacewith stickers, graffiti, and fliers referencing Robert Pattinson’s Batman movie “never came across [his] desk” and was likely done over his head.
Although the trash can is from the set I have a hard time believing the bat was put there by the art department. But if so it never came across my desk (I don’t have time to ok every piece of set dressing.)
The Batman, Part II
Despite last night’s Emmy win for The Penguin, Matt Reeves confirmed to MTV that Cristin Milioti will not return as Sofia Falcone in The Batman, Part II.
Cristin is not in this one [The Batman, Part II]. But that’s because we were so deep into the script by the time we were in the show. But we’ll see. I mean, I think she’s incredible. What she did in the show is just astonishing. And what [The Penguinshowrunner] Lauren [LeFranc] did in creating that character. I mean, creating this version of the character. It’s so special, so it’d be really exciting to do something with her. But she’s not in this one, in full disclosure, because we were so far along in the story.
Greenhouse
During a recent interview with Republik, Don’t Look Up director Adam McKay revealed he’s struggling to find producers willing to make his climate change disaster movie, Greenhouse, starring Amy Adams and Sam Rockwell.
It’s probably the biggest film I’ve written so far, simply because of its scale and the many tones it combines. It ranges from drama to action. There are humorous elements, but also elements of great tragedy. And indeed, this film also contains hopeful scenarios that show what concrete action against global warming can look like. And how beautiful and transformative that can be. The film encompasses many scenarios, characters, and places around the world. The only catch is: I’ll see if I can even make the film.
Primate
Bloody-Disgusting reports Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down, The Strangers: Prey at Night, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City) is attached to direct Primate, a “primal tale of horror and survival” that sounds like a cross between Link and 12 Feet Deep. The story concerns recent college grad, Lucy, as she “reunites with [her] family, including pet chimp, Ben. Ben contracts rabies during a pool party and turns aggressive. Lucy and friends then barricade [themselves] in [the] pool, devising ways to survive the vicious chimp.”
Practical Magic 2
Filming has wrapped on Practical Magic 2, according to Nicole Kidman on Instagram.
Stitch Head
A carnival barker plans to exhibit a castle of monsters in the trailer for Stitch Head.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Series
Should the company win the bidding rights, Deadline suggests J.T. Mollner, Roy Lee, and actor Glen Powell have plans to produce a TV series based on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre at A24. Though “the deal hasn’t closed yet, A24 has pole position” on the auction as its current highest bidder.
The Penguin/Matt Reeves Batman
Matt Reeves confirmed to IndieWire he’s “talked” to DC about further Batman-related spinoff series’ following The Batman, Part II.
I totally do, we’ve talked about it. That’s where the priorities have been [The Batman Part II]. These conversations may or may not… Look, I’m not in control of DC, and I can only tell you what I’d love to do, and there are things they know we would love to do, and those conversations may begin again when it’s appropriate.
Haunted Hotel
Finally, the first nine minutes of the new Netflix animated series, Haunted Hotel, are now available to watch on YouTube.
